Drug Formulation

3 sheng of sliced Bamboo Leaves, 3 liang of Tangerine Peel, 3 liang of dried Perilla Leaves, 4 liang of Atractylodes, 1 liang of licorice (roasted), 1 sheng of sliced scallion whites, 1 liang of Cinnamon Bark, 6 liang of gypsum (crushed), and 60 apricot kernels (peeled, de-tipped, and roasted).

Instructions for Use

Prepare with 1 dou 2 sheng of water. First, boil the bamboo leaves; strain off the liquid to obtain 1 dou, discard the residue, and clarify the liquid. Measure out 9 sheng of the clarified liquid, add the remaining herbs, and boil until reduced to 3 sheng. Strain through a cloth to remove the residue, and divide into 3 doses. If a laxative effect is required, add 3 liang of芒消.

Note

Avoid seaweed, Chinese cabbage, peaches and plums, sparrow meat, and raw green onions.
