Drug Formulation

Raw white alum 1 liang, raw gallnut (or, according to one version, schisandra) 2 liang, black plum (pounded and pitted) 2 liang, licorice 1.5 liang (roasted; one formula uses raw licorice), finely sifted wheat flour 2 liang (one formula specifies that flour made on Qingming Festival is especially suitable).

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder and mix thoroughly with the finely sifted wheat flour.
