Drug Formulation

Dried earthworms, in any amount.

From *Zhi Zhi*, cited in Volume 399 of *Pu Ji Fang*.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a powder.

Benefits

For children with swollen and hardened external genitalia, hernias, sudden swelling due to wind-heat, or genital sores.

Instructions for Use

First, wash the affected area with a decoction of scallions and Sichuan pepper in a sheltered spot; then apply a paste made with saliva to the affected area. For cases of heat in the external genitalia, apply a paste made with egg white; adding a small amount of oyster shell is also acceptable.

Note

Always avoid drafty, cold, and damp environments.
