Decoct in water and take while warm. Take the medicine on an empty stomach in the morning; after a severe bout of diarrhea, do not allow the patient to eat until evening. For those who cannot drink liquor, use 4 liang of liquor and 2 liang of sesame oil; for those who can drink 2 liang, use 6 liang of liquor and 3 liang of sesame oil. Break off 100 willow twigs, each about 6 cun long. Combine the oil and liquor in a single container and stir with the willow twigs, stirring each twig 50–60 times. After stirring, gently warm the mixture over a low flame and have the patient drink it with a soup spoon until it is all consumed.Since the patient has not eaten for a day, after drinking this mixture, they will inevitably become heavily intoxicated and drowsy; let them sleep undisturbed. Some patients may vomit after drinking this mixture, while others may not; reactions vary. Once they awaken, feed them porridge or light broth, and the illness will be cured. If they feel unwell, insert needles into the Jiuwei and Zhongwan acupoints, leaving them in for 5 hours before removing them. After the acupuncture, administer one dose of Qingzhen Dan.
