Processing

Use a straight-mouthed incense burner; coat the exterior with a mixture of fine clay, iron filings, and human hair, blending thoroughly. Secure the mixture with copper wire until the clay is firm enough not to crack, forming a layer approximately half a cun thick.First, melt the Black Scrophularia and Blue Lead in a ladle. Form a ring with bamboo fibers and place it on the ground. Pour the melted mixture into the ring to form two cakes. Place one cake inside the incense burner first, then layer the previous three ingredients on top, followed by the second cake. Cover the top with an inverted iron lampshade, seal it tightly with salt-mixed clay, and calcine over alternating high and low heat for one day.Draw water from inside the lampshade; the elixir will then rise and condense on the underside of the lid.
