Drug Formulation

Scutellaria baicalensis (wine-processed and stir-fried) 1 liang, Coptis chinensis (wine-processed and stir-fried) 1 liang, Gentiana macrophylla (wine-processed) 1 liang, Rehmannia glutinosa (wine-processed) 1 liang, Cimicifuga heracleifolia 0.5 fen, Bupleurum chinense 1 liang.

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients. Take 2 qian per dose; add the decoction from the first boil to the Heat-Purging Coptis Decoction and boil again until reduced to 1 zhan. Strain and take while hot between lunch and dinner.

Note

If taken in the afternoon, it will cause yang energy to reverse and fail to circulate; do not take it before bedtime, as this would inadvertently strengthen yin energy.
