Drug Formulation

1 liang of sulfur, 2 liang of borax.

Processing

Grind the two ingredients together into a fine powder, place them in a porcelain box, seal it according to the prescribed method, and wait until it dries. Then place it in a kiln, maintaining a constant top fire of 4 liang for 7 days. Next, light a fire of 4 liang at the bottom of the box and maintain it for 1 day before removing it;Observe that the sulfur is on top of the box and the borax is at the bottom. Grind the mixture again as before, place it back in the box, and heat for another full 7 days. Then, place 4 liang of fire under the box and heat for 1 day. Remove it;Boil it in beeswax to remove the toxic properties of fire. Wait until the wax turns black as lacquer, then remove the wax. Dry it over a fire, grind it finely once more, and mix it with millet rice to form pills the size of a sesame seed.
