Formulas Name : Marrow-Nourishing Pill

Chinese Name : 补髓丹

Drug Formulation

Eucommia bark (coarse bark removed, stir-fried until black) 10 liang; Psoralea seed 10 liang (stir-fried with 5 liang of sesame seeds until the sesame seeds turn black and no longer crackle; sift out the sesame seeds); deer antler 2 liang (hair singed off, roasted with wine); myrrh 1 liang (ground separately).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix thoroughly with myrrh, then take the flesh of 30 walnuts, soak in hot water to remove the skins, pound into a paste, add a small amount of flour, and form into pills using wine paste, each the size of a Paulownia seed; bake until dry.

Benefits

For lower back pain due to kidney deficiency.

Instructions for Use

Take 100 pills per dose, washed down with rice water before meals; warm wine or salted broth may also be used. Take once every two days.
