Drug Formulation
Scutellaria baicalensis, Phellodendron amurense, Coptis chinensis, Angelica sinensis roots, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Angelica dahurica, Scrophularia ningpoensis, dried silkworm, Saposhnikovia divaricata, 10 Mylabris phalerata, 10 whole scorpions, Lithospermum erythrorhizon, Schizonepeta tenuifolia, Cnidium monnieri, Sichuan pepper, areca nut, and 10 grains of croton seed.

Processing
Coarsely crush the ingredients, place them in half a bowl of sesame oil, and let them steep. Simmer for 5 days in spring and autumn, 3 days in summer, and 7 days in winter, until the mixture turns black;then add one small bowl of tung oil and one handful of willow or locust twigs cut into half-cun lengths; stir thoroughly with the twigs until uniform; strain thoroughly, then add sulfur, realgar, orpiment, and mercury oxide; add alum according to the quantity of the mixture, using one qian as the standard; first add finely ground frankincense and stir vigorously to blend.
