Chinese Name : 辟瘟丸

Drug Formulation

Scrophularia (roasted) 5 liang, Atractylodes (roasted) 3 liang, Ligusticum (roasted) 1 liang, Angelica dahurica (roasted) 1 liang,Qianghuo (root tip removed, used raw) 1 liang, Licorice (roasted, coarsely chopped) 1 liang, Aconite (roasted until cracked, skin and pith removed) 1 liang, Benzoin 1 fen, Borneol half a qian, Musk half a qian (ground).

Processing

Except for borneol and musk, grind the remaining herbs into a fine powder. Add the borneol and musk and mix thoroughly. Form into pills the size of a marble using millet congee as the binder. Air-dry them, place them in a muslin bag, and store near a heat source.

Benefits

For infectious diseases such as typhoid fever and epidemics, as well as symptoms of heaviness and dizziness in the head and eyes, stiffness in the neck and back, and constriction of the chest and diaphragm.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose; for acute illnesses, swallow with ginger and honey water; for cases of yin toxicity with a pale, bluish complexion, swallow with boiled water.
