Drug Formulation
1 jin of sheep’s brain soaked in water with sweet alum (crush into pieces the size of lotus seeds; soak in a child’s urine for 49 days; remove the urine, sun-dry, and grind into an extremely fine powder; place in a piece of large earthenware jar shard, calcine for the duration of one incense stick, then remove; wash with clear water, sun-dry, and set aside for use); 3 qian of Notopterygium root, 3 qian of Saposhnikovia root, 4 qian of white chrysanthemum flowers,4 qian of honeysuckle, 4 qian of Coix seed, 3 qian of Sichuan coptis, 3 qian of scutellaria, 3 qian of whole angelica, 4 qian of white tribulus,Schisandra fruit 2 qian, Sichuan lovage root 3 qian, White angelica root 2 qian, Raw licorice root 2 qian, Processed borax 1 qian 5 fen (processed), Processed cinnabar 5 fen (dried), Dongdan 1 qian (soaked), Lianzhu 1 qian (boiled in silk-wrapped tofu), Rhinoceros horn yellow 2 fen, Dried plum, Borneol 5 fen.

Processing
First, decoct the first 14 ingredients (excluding raw licorice) to a concentrated decoction and strain it. Moisten the processed Dan Shi with the decoction, then boil in a copper pot until dry. Grind into a fine powder and sift; use approximately 5 qian. Add the remaining ingredients and grind them all together into an extremely fine powder. Store in a narrow-mouthed porcelain jar to prevent air from entering.

Instructions for Use
Whether caused by internal or external wind, apply a small amount to the inner corner of the eye 2–3 times daily; results will be seen within a few days.
