Drug Formulation

1 jin of Strychnos nux-vomica, 2 liang of Pangolin scales, 2 liang of Sichuan Aconite.

Processing

Soak the Strychnos seeds in clean water for 15 days; in summer, change the water every other day.in winter, soak in warm water and change the water once; scrape off the skin and hair, cut into thin strips 1 fen thick, place in a pot of sesame oil, and fry until the oil foam disappears; then boil vigorously several times until the seeds turn deep yellow and crisp; next, place them in yellow earth and stir-fry until the earth powder absorbs the oil; sift to remove the oil and earth, then replace with fresh earth powder and stir-fry again; repeat this process three times until all the oil is removed; remove the Strychnos seeds and grind into a fine powder.Stir-fry the pangolin sand until crisp, then grind into a fine powder. Soak Sichuan aconite root in water for 3 days, changing the water once a day; sun-dry, then grind into a fine powder. Grind the above three ingredients together into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Adjust the dosage according to age, condition, and constitution. Children: 1–3 years old, 2–3 li; 4–6 years old, 3–5 li; 7–12 years old, 5 li–1 fen. Adults: 1–2 fen. Take 1 hour after a meal, washed down with rice wine.

Note

For those in a weakened condition, reduce the dosage appropriately.
