Drug Formulation

Wild boar (on the 8th day of the 12th lunar month, draw 1 sheng of blood from the tail; first collect it in a fresh clay basin) 1 liang; high-quality cinnabar (finely ground, water-washed) 1 liang; selected frankincense (finely ground) 1 liang; licorice (powdered) half a liang; horse-tooth stone half a liang; borneol 1 fen; musk 1 fen (finely ground).

Processing

Mix all the above ingredients thoroughly with the pig’s blood until finely blended. Take a wide, used bamboo tube with one segment left at the bottom, place all the mixture inside, wrap it tightly in several layers of thick paper, and hang it securely from the rafters above a latrine. Remove it on Qingming Day, dry it in the sun, then add 1 qian each of borneol and musk, grind until finely blended, and form into pills the size of soap nuts by adding a few drops of water.

Instructions for Use

Dissolve the mixture in a decoction of ginseng and take it orally. If the toxicity is severe and the sores have turned black, taking this remedy will cause the sores to turn red and vibrant again—a truly miraculous effect.
