Drug Formulation
Wudu realgar 1 liang (red as a rooster’s comb), large Aconite root 1 liang (roasted and weighed), Lepidium 1 liang, superior cinnabar 1 liang (free of impurities), white calcined hematite 1 liang (refined for one day and one night), croton seed 1 liang (peeled and roasted until purple, then weighed) (one version includes genuine cinnabar 1 liang).

Processing
First, pound the croton seeds 3,000 times; next, add the white calcined hematite and pound 3,000 times; next, add the leilu and pound 3,000 times; next, add the realgar and pound 3,000 times; next, add the aconite root and pound 3,000 times; next, add the white honey and pound 3,000 times; if cinnabar is not used and 2 liang of genuine vermilion is added instead, ensure the mixture does not lose its potency.

Instructions for Use
Adults should take pills the size of a small bean. If taking this remedy for an existing condition, avoid raw fish, raw vegetables, and pork. For the following conditions, do not eat the night before; take two pills the next morning. If no effect is felt, drink warm rice water to induce a purgative effect. If the purgation does not stop, drink cold water to halt it. If the illness is above the diaphragm, it will cause vomiting; if below the diaphragm, it will cause a purgative effect; or it may simply relieve the condition through belching.If meat remains undigested, causing a hard, distended abdomen or pain, take 1 pill for immediate relief; for wind hernia, cold hernia, heart hernia, or string-like hernia—whenever these hernias flare up with acute abdominal pain—take 2 pills; for chronic cold-heat stagnation, old stagnation, or snake-like stagnation, take 2 pills; for abdominal distension preventing food or drink intake, take 1 pill:Sudden, severe alternating chills and fever: take 1 pill; sudden obstruction preventing urination or defecation, with a sense of impending death: take 2 pills; abdominal masses: take 1 pill three times daily until cured; for mild cases, the “She” (??) pill is highly effective; severe diarrhea following a purgative: take 1 pill to stop it immediately; or in summer, after a purgative stops bowel movements, sudden shortness of breath occurs—where breath is expelled but not inhaled, or counterflow of qi surges to the throat, or sudden accumulation of masses—take 2 pills twice daily;For malaria that has not yet manifested, take 1 pill; once it has manifested, take 2 pills to stop the attack: For all childhood illnesses involving abdominal fullness, cold in the abdomen, or fever—in children aged 100 days to half a year—administer 1 pill the size of a millet seed by placing it on the nipple for the child to suck; for children over 1 year old, take 1 pill the size of a sesame seed three times daily, all taken with water;For children with severe (Yuezhen??) or moderate heat and toxic conditions, where food fails to digest and forms hard masses, administer 1 pill; it may also be applied to the nipple for the child to suckle;For typhoid fever, dysentery, and seasonal epidemics, take one pill with warm wine, cover the body well to induce sweating; if no sweat appears, take another pill with wine—the goal is to induce sweating; when visiting a sick person, take one pill and place another on your head; you will have nothing to fear while traveling; when visiting a house of mourning, carry one pill to ward off all evil spirits; for those suffering from frequent urination, emaciation, and aching joints, take one pill three times daily;For postpartum ailments in women, as well as blocked menstruation or irregular periods, take 2 pills twice daily; for sudden onset of cholera with abdominal pain, restlessness, bloating, vomiting, and diarrhea, along with cold hands and feet, take 2 pills; for “Zhu” disease—a hundred kinds of unnameable ailments—take 2 pills twice daily;If there is a sensation as if worms were in the abdomen, trying to burrow out through the flanks, accompanied by sharp, intermittent pain—this is caused by wind—take 2 pills; for unspeakable malignant sores, scabies, or carbuncles, mix the medicine with ointment or strong vinegar. First, wash the sore with salt water to remove the scab,wipe it dry, and apply the medicine—it will be cured immediately; for aversion to wind (??) affecting the heart, with difficulty breathing, take 1 pill and you will be cured immediately; for pus, blood, or fluid discharge from the ear, as well as sudden deafness, wrap 2 pills in red paper mulberry bark and insert them into the ear canal—it will be cured immediately;For boils, swellings, acne, carbuncles, scrofula, and impending fistulas, mix the medicine with vinegar and apply it; for toothache, wrap a small pill in cotton, place it in the tooth socket, and chew it;For alternating chills and fever caused by cold and heat, take two pills. For bites from snakes, vipers, bees, scorpions, or oysters, or for bites from rabid dogs or mad horses, mix the medicine with vinegar and apply it to the wound, then take two pills—recovery is immediate; for sudden onset of severe illness with near-death symptoms and loss of consciousness, mix two pills with wine, hot water, or plain water, force the patient’s mouth open, and pour the mixture down the throat, then support the patient in a sitting position to allow it to settle;For water retention, stagnant fluid, or phlegm-fluid accumulation, take 1 pill; mix 1 pill the size of a marble with wax, place it in a crimson pouch, and tie it to the arm—on the left for men, on the right for women; for poisoning from stream water, take 2 pills; if a sore is already present on the body, mix 3–4 pills with vinegar and apply to the sore; for anxiety-induced qi stagnation in the chest, accompanied by persistent belching and coughing,and stabbing chest pain, take 3 pills the size of a hemp seed three times daily; for women suffering from stagnant qi in the chest, labored breathing, a hard and tight lower abdomen, and cramping pain around the navel, take 1 pill the size of a hemp seed in liquid, gradually increasing the dose to the size of a mung bean; for persistent, sharp pain in the heart and abdomen accompanied by internal heat, take 1 pill the size of a hemp seed three times daily; recovery occurs in 5 days;For men and women afflicted by the intermingling of pathogenic qi and evil spirits, characterized by erratic singing and crying, or a distended abdomen with cessation of menstruation, appearing as if pregnant—all should take 3 pills the size of a broad bean, three times a day and once at night. Additionally, mix them with bitter wine until it has the consistency of malt syrup; in the morning, apply it to the palms of the hands, and in the evening, apply it to the Sanyinjiao acupoint on the feet and the nostrils. Recovery occurs in 7 days. Subsequently, take 1 pill the size of a hemp seed three times a day for 30 days;For three types of intestinal worms: fast overnight; at dawn, consume beef or mutton; moxibustion should be applied to the three shoulder points; shortly thereafter, take three pills the size of a broad bean. By noon, the worms should be expelled; if they have not been expelled by midday, take two more pills, and the decayed worms will certainly be expelled. For children with alternating chills and fever, headache, body heat, and vomiting (with ?? visible in the mouth), take one pill the size of a hemp seed;For a child who is emaciated and unable to eat, or whose food is not digested, take 2 pills three times daily; additionally, mix vinegar with honey until it has the consistency of malt syrup and apply it to the child’s abdomen; for red or itchy eyes caused by wind, with blurred vision and tears causing sores at the corners of the eyes, dissolve honey in vinegar until it has the consistency of malt syrup and apply it to the eyes and the corners of the eyes; for sudden wind-induced swelling, mix vinegar with ointment and apply it; the condition will be cured immediately;For swelling of the head caused by wind, mix it with ointment and apply it, then wrap the area with cotton; if poisoned by a cicada, resulting in vomiting blood and a stabbing pain in the abdomen, take one pill the size of a sesame seed, gradually increasing the dose to the size of a broad bean. Also, apply it to the nostrils mixed with ointment, and apply it thoroughly to the abdomen and back; you may also burn it to inhale the fumes; for a rat-induced fistula, mix it with animal fat and apply it to the sore; have a dog with a split tongue lick it, and it will be cured immediately.
