Processing
Grind the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder and mix thoroughly; take a large radish, remove the top, and hollow it out with a silver spoon to form a container. Grind the removed radish pulp to extract its juice and collect it in a bowl. Add a layer of the medicinal powder, then use the silver spoon to spread the radish juice over it;Repeat this layering process; if the juice does not seep through, use a silver spoon or chopsticks to pour it over the medicine until it reaches 8-fen of the way up, then cover with the radish top and secure it with a bamboo skewer; If one radish is not large enough to hold all the medicine, use 2–3 radishes to divide the mixture among them. First seal with paper, then secure with salt mud, covering the entire circumference to a depth of about one finger’s width; Calcine over a charcoal fire until the mixture turns completely red; remove from the fire only when a fragrant aroma is detected;Leave the pot undisturbed and simply keep it in the heat of the fire. The next day, remove the mud and open the pot. Use a silver spoon to scoop out the medicine, then knead it in a porcelain bowl until uniform, forming it into pills. If the medicine is dry, add more radish juice and mix until the desired consistency is achieved, then form pills the size of small beans.
