Drug Formulation

7 qian of stiff silkworm, 7 qian of green tangerine peel, 7 qian of Du Huo, 7 qian of Sichuan Aconite, 7 qian of Fangfeng, 7 qian of raw Aconite, 7 qian of He Shou Wu, 7 qian of white fresh bark, 7 qian of Qin Jiao bark, 7 qian of Pangolin scale, 7 qian of Pinellia, 7 qian of raw Sichuan Aconite, 7 qian of Qingfeng藤, 7 qian of Strychnos seed,7 qian of peach kernels, 7 qian of raw tiger bone, 7 qian of Tianma, 7 qian of Angelica sinensis root tips, 7 qian of Alpinia officinarum, 7 qian of Clematis chinensis, 2 pieces of fresh ginger, 2 bunches of Chinese chives, 2 cloves of raw garlic, and 2 green onions.

Processing

Fry the above herbs in 7.5 jin of sesame oil until charred, then remove the residue. Simmer the oil until a drop forms a bead when dropped into water. Add 3 jin 4 liang of cinnabar and let cool completely. Then stir the fine powder (6 qian of frankincense, 6 qian of myrrh, 5 qian of clove buds, 1 liang 3 qian of orpiment, 5 fen of borneol, and 8 fen of wood fragrant—all ground into an extremely fine powder) into the ointment.
