Lung-Protecting Decoction,Consumption originating in the heart and spreading to the lungs, manifesting as coughing with phlegm, counterflow of qi causing wheezing, which worsens when lying down, dryness of the nose and mouth, loss of sense of smell—occasionally perceiving only a musty, putrid odor—nausea with a desire to vomit, dry and withered skin, intermittent pain, a sensation as if insects were crawling within the lung passages, and fine, dry scales rising on the skin, resembling bran flakes.

Drug Formulation

2 qian of Atractylodes macrocephala, 2 qian of Ginseng, 2 qian of Lily bulb, 1 qian of Baimwei, 1 qian of Asparagus root, 3 qian of Ophiopogon tuber, 5 fen of Tussilago flower, 6 fen of Trichosanthes root, 6 fen of Platycodon root.
