Drug Formulation

1 liang of musk (finely ground), 1 liang of tiger shin bone, 1 liang of Asarum, 1 liang of Saposhnikovia (stem removed), 1 liang of Angelica pubescens, 1 liang of Cinnamon bark, 1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of Ligusticum wallichii, 1 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1 liang of white silkworm pupae, 1 liang of raw Rehmannia glutinosa, 1 liang of Bletilla striata, 1 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala,1.5 liang Sichuan pepper (seeds removed), 1 liang Aconite root (skin and navel removed, used raw), 1 liang Inula flower, 1 liang Red Peony root, 1 liang Forsythia fruit, 1 liang Chrysanthemum flower, 1 liang Trichosanthes seed (shell removed), 1 liang Tiannanxing, 1.5 liang Trichosanthes root, 1.5 liang Black Snake,1 liang Achyranthes root (stems removed), 1 liang Rhododendron flower, 1 liang Atractylodes, 1 liang Dendrobium (roots removed), 10 liang wild camel fat, 2 liang thorn needles, 5 liang beeswax, 2 jin pig lard from the 12th lunar month, 3 sheng vinegar, and 2 sheng fine wine.

Processing

Thoroughly wash the ingredients, sun-dry them, and grind them into a fine powder. Soak the powder in the wine and vinegar for three nights, then strain and air-dry in the shade. Next, place the mixture in the lard from a pig slaughtered in the twelfth lunar month and the wild camel fat, and simmer over low heat. When the Angelica dahurica turns yellowish-brown, the medicine is ready. Strain through cotton to remove the residue, mix in powdered musk until uniform, and store in a porcelain jar.

Instructions for Use

To use, first warm the palms over a flame, then apply the ointment to the painful area 5–7 times, rubbing gently. Additionally, take half a spoonful of the medicine mixed with warm wine orally.
