Drug Formulation
1 liang of Bupleurum (stems removed, coarsely chopped),Asafoetida 3 fen (roasted and ground into powder), Licorice (the size of the patient’s middle finger, coarsely chopped) 1 handful, Artemisia annua 1 handful, Peach kernels 1 handful, Willow twigs 1 handful, Rosa laevigata twigs 1 handful (finely chopped), White parts of Chinese leek 7 stalks (sliced), White parts of scallion 7 stalks (sliced), Areca nut 1 liang (ground into powder and divided into 3 doses).

Instructions for Use
Soak the above herbs overnight in 4 sheng of a young boy’s urine in a sealed room; at the beginning of the fifth watch, decoct them to yield 1.5 sheng, strain out the residue, add 1 fen of ground musk, and divide into 3 doses.Add one dose of areca nut powder to each serving and take it all at once; after walking 3–2 li, warm the second serving, add the areca nut powder, and take it all at once. While taking it, pinch your nose shut. Immediately after finishing, place a white plum in your mouth to prevent nausea and vomiting of the medicine. Shortly afterward, if you vomit, something will surely come out; if you do not vomit, take the next dose as before;The third dose will inevitably induce vomiting and diarrhea, expelling foul substances and parasitic worms of an indescribable nature; or, from under the nails, around the eyes, and across the body, creatures resembling ants or hairs may emerge. If the expelled worms are exclusively white, a full recovery is assured; those of other colors are difficult to cure. Immediately after vomiting and diarrhea have ceased, nourish the patient with rice porridge made with white vine and soft rice. Continue to follow the prescribed regimen for recuperation.
