Processing

First, soak the above herbs in 10 jin of high-quality sesame oil for two or three days, then simmer them in a pot. Strain out the residue, add the lead powder, and stir thoroughly with a mulberry twig. Stir continuously until all smoke has dissipated. Allow to cool, then soak in water; the longer it is aged, the more effective it becomes.

Instructions for Use

When preparing the ointment for use, add 1 liang of powdered medicine for every 1 jin of oil (Powdered Medicine Formula: 1 liang of Cinnamon Bark, 2 liang of Processed Frankincense, 2 liang of Processed Myrrh, 1 liang of Dragon’s Blood, 1 liang of Dragon Bone, and 1 liang of Cloves; grind all into an extremely fine powder and store in a porcelain jar for future use). Apply this ointment whenever epileptic fits occur.
