Drug Formulation

Cinnamon Bark (Gui Xin) 1 fen, Ligusticum Root (Chuanxiong) 1 fen, Chinese Angelica Root (Danggui) 1 liang,1 fen of Mu Bie Zi (shell removed), 1 fen of cuttlefish bone, 1 fen of Lou Lu, 1 fen of Bai Ji, 1 fen of Chuan Wu Tou (raw, with skin and navel removed), 1 fen of Ji She Xiang, 1 fen of Mu Xiang, 1 fen of Bai Tan Xiang, 1 fen of Ding Xiang, 2 liang of pine resin, 1 liang of tangled hair, 6 liang of Huang Dan, and 1 sheng of clear sesame oil.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Add the pine resin, tangled hair, and sesame oil, and simmer until the hair is completely dissolved. Filter through cotton to remove the dregs and clarify the liquid. Wipe the cauldron clean, then simmer the mixture over low heat. Add the yellow丹, and stir continuously with a willow wood spatula until the mixture turns black. Add all the powdered herbs at once and stir until evenly mixed. Adjust the consistency to the desired softness or hardness, then transfer to a non-porous container.

Instructions for Use

Each time, assess the size of the swelling, warm the paste by the fire, spread it on a piece of old cloth, and apply it thickly; change the dressing twice a day.
