Drug Formulation
Stone Crab: 1 qian (soak in boiling water to remove stones and sand; wrap in bamboo paper, pound to a fine powder, and grind until no sound is heard); Coptis: 1 qian (remove the stalks); White Clove: 1 qian; Palace Powder: 3 fen; Tin: 3 fen (hard and heavy with golden flecks; ground to a fine powder); Rock Salt: 3 fen (dissolve in water in a pot, clarify to remove sand and impurities, then boil over heat until dry); Red Ocher: 3 fen;Copper Green (scraped from ancient coins, ground to a fine powder, washed with water, and sun-dried) 3 fen, Borax 4 fen, Frankincense 4 fen (transparent variety; wrap in 4–5 layers of bamboo leaves, boil in clear water in a copper pot until it comes to a boil several times, then change the water and boil to remove the oil), Myrrh (prepared as above) 4 fen, Bear Bile 1 fen (remove the membrane), Dangmenzi 1 fen, Dried Alum 1 fen, Borneol 1 fen.
