Chinese Name : 猪肚煎丸

Drug Formulation

2 liang of imported fennel, 1 liang of imported sulfur (ground separately), 2 liang of Sichuan pepper (select those with open pods and no stems; stir-fry with 4 liang of wheat flour until the flour turns yellow; remove the pepper and let it “sweat” on the ground), 2 liang of trichosanthes peel (remove the pith; stir-fry with the specially prepared pepper flour until fragrant and cooked; discard the flour).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take one pig’s stomach, wash it thoroughly, and remove the fat. Stuff the sulfur powder inside, then sew it tightly shut with thread. Simmer it in 4 liang of ash-infused wine over low heat until completely tender. Grind the mixture separately until extremely fine, then mix it with the medicinal powder to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.
