Chinese Name : 地髓煎

Drug Formulation

10 jin of raw rehmannia root (washed, pounded, and pressed to extract the juice), 1.5 jin of deer antler gelatin, 0.5 jin of ginger (juiced), 2 sheng of honey, and 4 sheng of wine.

Processing

Simmer the rehmannia juice over medium-high heat until it boils several times. Immediately grind 4 liang of perilla seeds with wine, extract the juice, and add it to the decoction. Boil for 10–20 more times, then add the deer antler gelatin. Once the gelatin has dissolved, add the ginger juice and honey, and simmer further until thickened. Transfer to a clay vessel.
