Da Jianzhong Decoction,Deficiency and decline of middle yang, internal excess of yin-cold, or infestation by roundworms; cold pain in the epigastrium and abdomen; vomiting preventing food intake; protrusion of the abdominal skin with the appearance of head-and-foot-shaped lumps that are painful and resistant to pressure; or gurgling sounds in the abdomen; white, slippery tongue coating; fine and taut pulse; in severe cases, cold extremities and a hidden pulse.Severe cold pain in the chest and heart region; vomiting prevents eating or drinking; cold in the abdomen; cold rising upward causing the skin to bulge, revealing head-and-foot-shaped lumps; pain throughout the abdomen that cannot be touched.When food and drink are swallowed, the patient is aware that they flow down one side of the throat, accompanied by a gurgling sound. Instructions for Use

Boil 4 sheng of water until reduced to 2 sheng; strain out the residue; add 1 sheng of gelatin and maltose; simmer over low heat until reduced to 1.5 sheng; divide into two doses and take while warm. After about the time it takes to cook one meal, one may drink 2 sheng of congee, followed by another dose. For one day, consume only soft porridge, keeping the abdomen warm and covered.

Note

Contraindicated for abdominal pain caused by internal accumulation of real heat, stagnation of damp-heat, or yin deficiency with blood heat.
