Chinese Name : 地黄紫苏煎

Drug Formulation

3 liang of raw Rehmannia, 2 liang of fresh ginger (grind together with Rehmannia and squeeze out the juice), 1 jin of raw Scrophularia, half a jin of raw Asparagus root (core removed), 1 jin of raw Ophiopogon (core removed), 2 liang of Perilla seeds (roasted and ground),4 liang of raw burdock root (finely sliced; grind the four ingredients from Scrophularia to Perilla seeds until pulverized; mix with a small amount of water and strain through a cloth to extract the juice), 3 liang of apricot kernels (peeled, tips removed, and double kernels separated) (ground and added separately).

Processing

Combine the juices from the two groups of herbs with the almonds and mix thoroughly. Simmer over low heat in a silver or stone vessel until slightly thickened. Remove from heat, add 5 liang of white honey and 2 liang of pure ghee, and mix well. Steam briefly over a rice steamer, allow to cool, and transfer to a clean container.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 small spoonful per dose, letting it dissolve in the mouth; take 3 times daily, at any time.
