Drug Formulation

Amber (ground separately): 2 qian; Dragon’s Tooth (calcined and ground separately): 1 liang; Polygala (simmered with black beans and licorice, seeds removed): 5 qian;Acorus tatarinowii 5 qian, Poria cocos (with the spore layer) 5 qian, Ginseng 5 qian, Ziziphus jujuba seeds (roasted) 5 qian, Angelica sinensis 7 qian, Rehmannia glutinosa 7 qian, Coptis chinensis 3 qian, Biota orientalis seeds 5 qian, Cinnabar (ground separately) 3 qian, Bovis bile (ground separately) 1 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Grind the ox bile, cinnabar, amber, and dragon’s teeth into an extremely fine powder. Form into pills the size of millet grains using pig’s heart blood, and coat them with gold leaf.
