Drug Formulation

2 liang of Coptis, 1 liang of Silver Bupleurum, half a liang of Cnidium, half a liang of Sichuan Cnidium, 1 liang of purified Gentiana, 1 liang of Anemarrhena, 1 liang of Evodia, and 1 liang of Scutellaria.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder. Take one yellow female chicken weighing one jin; feed it exclusively on hemp seeds for five days. Make an incision in the hindquarters, remove the intestines and entrails, wash the chicken, pat it dry, stuff it with the medicine, and sew it closed with thread.Spread black beans three cun thick on the bottom of a steamer; place the chicken on top and around the sides, then wrap it with more beans. Steam at sunrise and remove the medicine at dusk. Grind the cleaned chicken meat with the medicine until dry, then mix with a wine paste to form pills the size of hemp seeds or mung beans.

Instructions for Use
