Drug Formulation

Jing Sanling (roasted) 1 liang, Aniseed 1 liang (stir-fried), Sichuan Aconite 4 liang, Shenqu 1 liang, Barley Malt 1 liang, Rhubarb 1 liang (simmered with half a sheng of good vinegar until it becomes a thick paste; if not used to break up hard masses, no need to make a paste), Dried Ginger 2 qian, Croton Seed 2 pieces (use 4 pieces to break up hard masses), Pinellia 0.5 liang, Cinnamon 2 qian, Pharbitis 3 liang.

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, then mix with the paste to form pills the size of small beans.

Instructions for Use

Take 10 or 15 pills per dose, washed down with ginger decoction; warm or cold water may also be used. If a slight warming sensation is felt between the heart and stomach, reduce the number of pills accordingly, increasing the dose until 3–5 bowel movements are achieved. Adjust the dosage as needed, continuing until the symptoms subside.
