Drug Formulation

Mercury Oxide 1 qian, Mercury Oxide Powder 1 qian, Arsenic Sulfide (weighed separately) 1 qian, Realgar (ground) 1 qian, Cinnabar 1 qian, Arsenic Trioxide 1 qian, Croton Seed (peeled) 1 qian, Iron Oxide 3 qian, Wax 3 qian.

Processing

First, grind the powdered mercury into a fine powder; then gradually add the realgar while grinding until fine; add the realgar, cinnabar, and arsenic trioxide and grind again; finally, add the yellow丹 and grind until uniform. Separately, grind the croton seeds until pulverized into an oily paste, mix thoroughly with the previous ingredients, roast over a fire, remove from heat, and grind separately. When the wax has softened, incorporate it into the mixture, knead evenly, and shape into pills the size of small beans; for children, make them the size of millet or sesame seeds.
