Drug Formulation

1 liang 2 qian of Maoshan Atractylodes, 1 liang of Clove, 8 qian of Realgar (water-washed, cleaned, and sun-dried), 9 qian of Cinnabar (water-washed, cleaned, and sun-dried), 2 qian of Dangmenzi, and 4 qian of Genuine Toad Venom (sliced thinly, dried thoroughly in ash, ground into a fine, pure powder).

Processing

Grind each of the above herbs into a fine powder. On the Dragon Boat Festival, mix them evenly and form into pills using the “piled-flower” method with rice wine, making them the size of fine mung beans. Dry them in ash, store in a porcelain jar, and ensure no air escapes.

Instructions for Use

Take 7 pills per dose; for severe cases, 9 or 12 pills. Hold them on the tongue until a numbing sensation is felt, then swallow with cool water or allow them to dissolve in saliva; for mild cases, only 3 pills are needed. It is advisable to keep a supply on hand for emergencies; ensure they remain dry to prevent mold or discoloration. If ground into a very fine powder, they can be used as a substitute for inhaled medications with even better results.
