Peony and Licorice Decoction,Deficiency of yin and blood, with impaired blood circulation, resulting in cramping of the legs and feet or abdominal pain; in cases of typhoid fever with a floating pulse, spontaneous sweating, frequent urination, restlessness, slight aversion to cold, cramping of the feet, and warm feet; cough arising from the small intestine, accompanied by loss of breath.Abdominal pain due to seasonal cold-induced fever; abdominal pain with fever in children accompanied by difficulty urinating; abdominal pain during smallpox; unrelenting fever due to injury to the Nutritive Blood; incessant night crying in children with severe abdominal cramping; cold-induced fever in women where sweating has resolved the exterior symptoms but heat has entered the Blood Chamber, resulting in excessive menstrual flow without a sensation of fullness; and abdominal pain in miscellaneous diseases caused by the Wood element overpowering the Spleen Earth, leading to disharmony of Yin, Yang, Blood, and Qi; postpartum abdominal pain.

Instructions for Use

Boil with 3 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng and 5 he; strain out the residue; divide into two doses and take warm.

Note

When using this formula, it is essential to distinguish between deficiency and excess conditions; it is suitable for deficiency-heat but not for deficiency-cold.
