Drug Formulation

1 liang of rhubarb, 1 liang of aconite, 1 liang of Astragalus root, 1 liang of Ligusticum root, 1 liang of realgar (ground), 1 liang of pearl powder, 2 liang of white Polygonum, 2 liang of white Polygonum, 2 liang of alum (ground), 2 liang of Scutellaria root, 2 liang of lacquer tree bark, 2 liang of Phragmites rhizome (powdered), and 1 liang of orpiment (ground).

Processing

Combine the above 11 ingredients with 1 sheng 4 he of lard. Simmer over low heat for three cycles, then strain out the residue; add the ground ingredients—including alum and reed root—and simmer until a paste forms.

Apply to the ulcer. Continue until all necrotic tissue is removed; do not over-treat.
