Drug Formulation

4 liang of processed Atractylodes (Cang Zhu), 1 liang of Notopterygium (Qiang Huo), 1 liang of Saposhnikovia (Fang Feng), 1 liang of Ligusticum (Chuan Xiong), half a liang of Scutellaria (Huang Qin), half a liang of Fructus Aurantii (Zhi Ke; one version reads Zhi Shi), half a liang of Licorice (Gan Cao), 1.5 liang of Angelica dahurica (Bai Zhi), 2 liang of Gypsum (Shi Gao), 3 qian of Asarum (Xi Xin), and 7 qian of Anemarrhena (Zhi Mu).

Coarsely crush the ingredients; grind the gypsum into a fine powder and add it to the decoction.

Instructions for Use

Decoct in water; to induce sweating, administer with hot decoction.

Note

If there is no fever but only thirst, do not use gypsum or Anemarrhena; if there is no internal excess with fullness beneath the heart, do not use Zhi Shi.
