Drug Formulation

Snail shells and yellow inkstone shells, 2 pieces each (those that have been buried in soil for many years; aged ones are especially good; each should be separately calcined into white ash).

Processing

For each dose, use 4 liang of white plum pulp, 2 liang of snail shell ash, and 1 liang of yellow inkstone shell ash. Mix thoroughly, form into a ball, place in a sand-lined box, cover, seal with salt mud, and calcine over a high flame until charred black but retaining its properties. Remove and grind into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 2 qian per dose; before meals, mix with a decoction of ginseng and cardamom; a drink made from aged rice is also acceptable. If no box is available, simply use two Jian-style tea bowls placed together and fire them according to the preceding method.
