Drug Formulation

1 jin 4 liang of sesame oil, 2 liang of licorice, 4 liang of sesame seeds, 3 qian of Asparagus root (soaked in wine, core removed), 3 qian of Ophiopogon root (soaked in wine, core removed), 3 qian of Polygala root (soaked in wine, core removed), 3 qian of raw Rehmannia root (washed with wine), 3 qian of prepared Rehmannia root (steamed with wine), 3 qian of Achyranthes root (stem removed, soaked in wine),Cnidium monnieri (washed with wine) 3 qian, tiger bone (roasted with butter) 3 qian, dodder seed (soaked in wine) 3 qian, deer antler (roasted with butter) 3 qian,Cistanche (washed in wine, outer membrane removed) 3 qian, Sichuan Dipsacus (3 qian), Purple Aster (3 qian), Trichosanthes Seed (shell removed) (3 qian), Apricot Kernel (skin and tip removed) (3 qian), Eupatorium (3 qian), Cinnamon Bark (bark removed) (3 qian), Rosin (8 liang),Japanese Sulfur (powdered) 2 qian, Realgar (powdered) 2 qian, Dragon Bone (powdered) 2 qian, Red Ocher (powdered) 2 qian, Frankincense (powdered) 3 qian, Myrrh (powdered) 3 qian, Wood Fragrance (powdered) 3 qian, Clove Bud (powdered) 3 qian, Toad Venom 2 qian, Musk 2 qian, Yangqi Stone 2 qian, Huangzhan 1 liang.

Processing

Simmer in sesame oil, then add the following ingredients: First, add sesame seeds; second, add licorice; third, add Asparagus root, Ophiopogon tuber, Polygala root, raw Rehmannia root, prepared Rehmannia root, Achyranthes root, Cnidium fruit, tiger bone, Cuscuta seed, deer antler, Cistanche, Sichuan Dipsacus root, Lithospermum flower, Gleditsia seed, apricot kernel, Eupatorium herb, and Cinnamomum cassia;Fourth, add pine resin; stir continuously with locust and willow twigs until the mixture does not disperse even when a drop of water is added; fifth, add Japanese sulfur, realgar, dragon bone, and cinnabar (return to heat and simmer for one hour); sixth, add frankincense, myrrh, wood fragrance, and clove buds (simmer again, then remove the pot from the heat and let it cool to room temperature);Seventh: Add toad venom, musk, and Yangqishi (until it does not disperse even when a drop of water is added); Eighth: Add Huangzhan. Place the mixture in a porcelain jar, seal the opening with wax, and submerge it in a well for three days to remove the fire toxicity; then spread it out on red silk.
