Drug Formulation

1 yellow hen (if less than one year old, prepare as usual; boil in 1 dou of water to reduce to 5 sheng of broth), 10 apricot kernels (soaked in hot water, then peeled, de-tipped, and split into two halves), 3 liang of prepared dried rehmannia root (chopped finely, ground together with the apricot kernels, then mixed with 3 he of wine and strained to extract the juice), and 3 he of glutinous rice.

Instructions for Use

For each serving, use 2.5 large bowls of the chicken broth to cook the rice into porridge. Just before it is done, add the Rehmannia and almond juice, then continue cooking until fully cooked. Consume on an empty stomach.
