Formulas Name : Lime and Soap Powder

Chinese Name : 灰皂散

Drug Formulation

Freshly kiln-fired lime, natural water from Nan soap (also known as stone alkali or tu bing yao), and orpiment.

Source

*Lectures on Traditional Chinese Medicine Surgery*.

Processing

Place Nan soap in any quantity in a well-ventilated area indoors to allow it to naturally absorb moisture from the air and slowly dissolve into a liquid—this is called “natural water.” Pour out as much as dissolves and store it in a glass bottle for future use. Orpiment is already in powder form and requires no further preparation; it is ready for immediate use.

Benefits

Internal hemorrhoids that prolapse outside the anus during the middle and late stages.

Instructions for Use

To use, first place some lime powder (any amount) in a small cup, add a small amount of realgar, mix well, then add the Nan Zao “natural water” to form a paste. The consistency should be neither too thick nor too thin. After mixing, wait a few seconds before applying the mixture to the surface of the hemorrhoid.Since this mixture hardens quickly once it becomes a paste, if it becomes too dry or hard, immediately add some Nan soap water and mix well to maintain the proper consistency. Therefore, it must be prepared and used immediately; if left for more than 10 minutes after preparation, it will lose its effectiveness.
