Drug Formulation

1 qian of Sichuan Aconite, 1.5 qian of Dried Ginger, 2 qian of Ginseng, 0.8 fen of Magnolia Bark, 1 liang 3 qian of Coptis, 1 qian of Aster, 0.4 fen of Croton Seed Powder, 3 qian of Cinnamon Twig, 1.5 qian of Dried Tangerine Peel, 0.7 fen of Green Tangerine Peel, 1.5 qian of Sichuan Pepper (slightly roasted to reduce pungency), a small amount of Safflower,Poria 1 qian and a half, Platycodon root 1 qian, White Cardamom 1 qian, Beijing Curcuma 1 qian and a half, Asparagus root (core removed) 1 qian and a half.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix with steamed buns soaked in hot water to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Benefits

Formulated in midsummer; when stagnation manifests as illness, it presents with alternating chills and fever, wheezing, and coughing; qi surges upward; and the pulse is涩 (thready).

Instructions for Use

Initially take 2 pills; add 1 pill on the first day, and 2 pills on the second day, continuing until stools become slightly loose and well-formed. Then resume taking 2 pills daily. Take with ginger decoction before meals.

Note

Avoid alcohol, damp noodles, pungent spices, hot foods, and raw, cold, or hard foods.
