Source

*Yi Tong*, Volume 59.

Benefits

Effective for beriberi, wind-induced disorders, and toxic conditions.

Instructions for Use

Mix the ingredients and assemble them into a pouch, like a bundle, to wrap around the soles and shins of the feet. Do not wear shoes. Immediately warm the pouch over a fire and step on it; a gentle flame should be maintained beneath it. As the Sichuan pepper and mugwort are exposed to the gentle heat, the warmth will naturally penetrate the feet, dispelling cold, dampness, and various wind-toxins. Severe pain will cease immediately. After the pain subsides, continue this treatment every 2–3 days, or wrap the feet every night and remove the poultice at dawn. This method is universally effective.
