Processing

Using 10 jin of sesame oil, simmer the herbs until they are charred and the mixture becomes so thick that a drop of water forms a bead. Then add 5 jin of cinnabar. Next, prepare the following fine ingredients: frankincense, myrrh, dragon’s blood, mercuric oxide, and dragon bone—3 qian each; sea squirt and red ochre—5 qian each; camphor—1 liang 5 qian; borneol and patchouli—3 qian each. Grind all ingredients into a fine powder and mix into the ointment.
