Drug Formulation

Tianlinggai, 2 finger-widths in size (wash with a decoction of white sandalwood, then roast in ghee until golden yellow); 5 areca nuts; 2 qian of asafoetida; 1 qian of cinnabar (ground separately); 1 qian of musk (ground separately); 2 qian of Euphorbia; 3 fen of benzoin.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose.Take 14 stems of Chinese chive whites, 2 handfuls of Artemisia annua, 5 cun of licorice, 14 cun of scallion whites, and 7 cun each of peach, willow, mulberry, plum, and sour pomegranate branches (all facing east or south). Place these ingredients in an earthenware pot with a child’s urine, and decoct over alternating high and low heat until reduced to 1 sheng. Strain out the residue, divide the liquid into 3 bowls, and mix in the powdered medicine prepared earlier. Take 1 bowl at the beginning of the fifth watch.If you feel the urge to vomit after taking it, eat white plum flesh to suppress it. By the end of the fifth watch, you will feel rumbling in your internal organs, and worms, harmful substances, and yellow fluid will be expelled. If nothing is expelled after the first dose, walk five to seven li, then take another dose; take a third dose at daybreak. If diarrhea persists, mix equal parts dragon bone and Coptis into a powder, dissolve 5 qian in hot water, and drink it; or eat plain white rice porridge to replenish your strength.
