Drug Formulation

Qin Jiao (seeds and closed ends removed, stir-fried until perspiring): 1 fen; dried lacquer (stir-fried until smoke dissipates): half liang; raw dried rehmannia root (baked): half liang; purslane (harvested on the Double Fifth Festival, air-dried): half liang; pomegranate peel: 1 fen; willow twigs: 1 fen; white mulberry root bark: 1 fen; walnut shell: 1 fen; white thorn bark: 1 fen.

Processing

Finely chop the ingredients, place them in a porcelain jar, seal it tightly with salt clay, and bake over a charcoal fire (10 jin) until the charcoal is completely consumed. Allow to cool, then grind into a fine powder.
