Drug Formulation

Mao Cang Zhu 2 liang, Wu Yao (both ingredients soaked in rice washing water overnight and sun-dried) 2 liang, Xiang Fu (half soaked in a child’s urine and stir-fried, half soaked in rice vinegar and stir-fried) 2 liang,Agastache 2 liang, Perilla Leaf 2 liang, Magnolia Bark (stir-fried with ginger juice) 2 liang, Dried Tangerine Peel 2 liang, Green Tangerine Peel (stir-fried with vinegar) 2 liang, Red Peony Root (stir-fried with wine) 2 liang, Cardamom (shelled) 2 liang, Fennel Seed (lightly stir-fried) 2 liang, Wood Fragrance 2 liang, Cardamom (wrapped in flour, slow-roasted, and shelled) 2 liang,Chuanxiong (lightly stir-fried) 1 liang, Angelica sinensis root (lightly stir-fried) 1 liang, Scutellaria baicalensis (lightly stir-fried) 1 liang, Fructus Aurantii (stir-fried with wheat bran) 1 liang, Poria cocos 1 liang, Akebia trifoliata 1 liang, Chicken heart 1 liang, Areca nut 1 liang, Licorice root powder 5 qian.

Processing

Sun-dry the above herbs, grind them into a fine powder, and form into pills using aged rice paste. Each pill should weigh 1 qian 5 fen; they must also be sun-dried, with each finished pill weighing 9 fen.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose. For heart pain, add 2 fen of lampwick and 1 slice of fresh ginger, decoct in water, and take the decoction with the pill; for abdominal pain, crush 1 slice of fresh ginger, mix with 3 fen of roasted salt, and take with boiling water; for chest and abdominal distension, decoct 5 fen of ginger peel and 1 qian of Areca nut peel in water, and take the decoction with the pill; on the day a malaria attack occurs, decoct 7 peach kernels and 1 slice of fresh ginger in water, and take the decoction with the pill;For wind-phlegm-induced wheezing and cough, take with a decoction of Perilla leaf and mint; for bloody dysentery, take 2 qian of white honey mixed with rice water;For white dysentery, mix 2 qian of brown sugar and 1 spoonful of ginger juice with rice soup and take it; for hernia, take it with a decoction of fennel and Chinese toon; for indigestion with sour regurgitation and children’s abdominal distension, take it with ginger decoction; for menorrhagia and persistent lochia, take 1 qian of angelica root as a decoction; for yellowish, swollen face and body, wandering damp phlegm, and unexplained swellings and abscesses, take all with aged wine.

Note

The above herbs must not be dried or exposed to fire; avoid raw, cold, or hard foods.
