Drug Formulation

10 liang of Hei Chou (take 4 liang of the “head” portion, divided into 2 portions), half a liang of Wood Fragrance (powder), 1 liang of Tin Ash (stir-fried with vinegar, powdered),Areca nut (pure powder) 2 liang (divided into two portions), Thunder Seed (pure powder) 2 liang (divided into two portions), Dried Tangerine Peel (ground) half a liang, Green Tangerine Peel (powder) half a liang, Acorus tatarinowii (vinegar-fried) 1 liang, Curcuma zedoaria (vinegar-fried) 1 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Then take 2 liang of Xishijun, 1 liang each of He Shi and Zao Jiao,decoct these three ingredients in 2 bowls of water until reduced to 1 zhan. Wrap 1 he of millet in a cloth and boil it with the decoction; remove it just before it is fully cooked. First, apply 2 liang of Hei Chou powder; next, apply 1 liang of areca nut powder; then apply 1 liang of Lei Wan powder until it is all used up; finally, apply the powders of Mu Xiang, tin ash, San Leng,Curcuma zedoaria, dried tangerine peel, and green tangerine peel until all are used up. Then apply one layer of Leiwan, two layers of areca nut, and three layers of Chou powder on the outside, and air-dry in the shade.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose. Swallow it with cold tea at the fourth watch of the night, then go back to sleep until dawn. Do not wash your hands or face, nor consume any hot liquids. Wait until the medicine has been expelled—whether it be worms, stagnant matter, toxic stagnation, or the original medicinal ingredients—before washing your face with cold water. If the medicine has not yet been expelled, endure it for a short while; once it begins to pass, replenish your body with medicine and food.
