Drug Formulation

49 seeds of croton (remove the shell, inner membrane, and oil; retain the essence; roast until hot; place in a silver or stone vessel and simmer over low heat until yellow and creamy; wrap in paper and press to remove all oil; grind finely; in winter, use slightly less oil),15 apricot kernels (must be genuine; remove the skin and tip, steam, wrap in paper, remove the oil, and grind together with the croton seeds), 3.5 qian of frankincense (sun-dried slowly; do not expose to fire), 1.5 qian of agarwood, 3 qian of frankincense resin (ground into a fine powder), and 1.5 qian of locust flowers (ground into a fine powder).

Processing

Mix the ingredients thoroughly in a mortar until smooth and fine; take 1 liang and 1 qian of genuine yellow beeswax and melt it over low heat in a silver or stone vessel. Filter it through fine cotton to remove impurities, then remelt the wax and add the prepared mixture to it. Stir continuously with a bamboo whisk until evenly blended;Next, add 5 qian of genuine Hangzhou realgar and stir again until thoroughly blended. Pour the mixture into a bowl, where it will solidify on its own. Knead it into a block; if it is too hard, add a small amount of honey; if it lacks a reddish hue, add more realgar. If making pills, form them into mung bean-sized balls and wrap them tightly in oiled paper.

Instructions for Use

Take 10 pills per dose, increasing to 15 pills; take with plain hot water or ginger tea; rice water is also acceptable. If regular food causes stagnation and bloating, take with hot soup; warm wine is also acceptable.
