Drug Formulation
1 liang of whole Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of Sichuan Aconite, 1 liang of Bletilla striata, 1 liang of Saposhnikovia divaricata, 1 liang of Trichosanthes kirilowii seeds, 1 liang of raw Rehmannia glutinosa, 1 liang of Forsythia suspensa,1 liang of Caowu, 1 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, 1 liang of Wuyao, 1 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1 liang of Acanthopanax senticosus, 1 liang of Rehmannia glutinosa, 1 liang of Forsythia, 1 liang of Aconitum carmichaeli, 1 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, 1 liang of Notopterygium, 1 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1 liang of Acanthopanax senticosus, 1 liang of Rheum palmatum, 1 liang of Paeonia rubra, 1 liang of human hair, 1 liang of Cynanchum atratum, 5 qian of Myrrh (oil removed), 10 cun of Sophora japonica twigs, 10 cun of willow twigs, 10 cun of mulberry twigs, 10 cun of jujube twigs, 10 cun of peach twigs.

Processing
Soak the above herbs in 2 jin of sesame oil until thoroughly saturated. Simmer over a fire of mulberry and firewood until the mixture is reduced to a dry residue, then strain out the dregs. Transfer the mixture to a clean pot and simmer over low heat until a drop of the liquid forms a bead when held up. At this point, add exactly 12 liang of fly cinnabar, ensuring the mixture is neither too hard nor too soft. Just as it begins to set, add 5 qian of defatted frankincense and stir until completely dissolved. Pour the mixture into a basin of water and knead vigorously to remove the heat toxicity. Spread the mixture thinly and apply as a poultice.

Instructions for Use
When applying, add half fen of musk; each patch weighs 5 qian. For severe cases, one patch is sufficient for a full recovery; for milder cases, one patch can be used for 3–4 people.

Do not alter this formula, as doing so will render it ineffective.
