Drug Formulation

1 liang of Angelica sinensis root, 1 liang of Huai raw Rehmannia root (sliced with a bamboo knife and roasted until crisp), 1 liang of Cornus fruit pulp,1 liang of genuine donkey-hide gelatin (grind 2 liang of gypsum into powder, mix with the gelatin, and stir-fry until it forms beads; discard the gypsum; allow to cool, then grind into a fine powder), 1 jin of cotton seed kernels (scorch off the outer husk, then stir-fry in a pan until each kernel bursts open and turns charred black while retaining its essence), genuine persimmon frost (i.e., the white frost on dried persimmons; it must not be exposed to fire; mix it in only after all the other ingredients have been ground into a fine powder).

Processing

Roast each of the above herbs separately until charred black, ensuring each retains its inherent properties; grind them together into a fine powder, then mix in the persimmon frost and stir until evenly blended.

Instructions for Use

Take 4 qian of the powder daily on an empty stomach, mixed with a rice bowl of freshly boiled water. Stir the powder with chopsticks until it floats halfway on the surface; then drink the mixture, including the water. If bleeding is severe, take an additional 3 qian in the evening; once the stool turns black, the bleeding will gradually stop.

Note

Avoid consuming pepper, liquor, and other pungent, heating foods.
