Drug Formulation

Large cinnabar (finely ground, washed with water) 1 liang, psoralea (soaked in wine and stir-fried) 2 liang, walnut kernels (shelled, stir-fried) 4 liang (pounded to remove oil), eucommia (stir-fried with ginger and wine) 2 liang, achyranthes (stem removed, washed with wine) 1 liang,Asparagus Root (core removed) 1 liang, Ophiopogon Tuber (core removed) 1 liang, Raw Rehmannia Root (washed with wine) 2 liang, Prepared Rehmannia Root 2 liang, Angelica Root (washed with wine) 1 liang, White Poria (peeled, ground into powder, washed with water and sun-dried, then soaked in human milk and sun-dried again), Sichuan Lovage Root 1 liang, Polygala Root (soaked in licorice water, core removed) 1 liang,Acorus tatarinowii (hairs removed, soaked in salt water), Morinda officinalis (soaked in wine, stems removed) 1 liang, Poria cocos spiritus (peel and woody parts removed, decocted together, prepared the same way as Poria cocos), rock salt 1 liang each, Phellodendron amurense (stir-fried in salt water) 2 liang, Fennel (stir-fried in salt water) 1 liang, Anemarrhena asphodeloides (stir-fried in wine, hairs removed) 2 liang,Sichuan pepper 4 liang (lightly stir-fried, seeds and white membranes removed), frankincense (roasted with bamboo leaves) 1 liang, selected ginseng 1 liang, Polygonatum (boiled once in rice washing water, mushy pieces removed, sliced with a bamboo knife and sun-dried; alternatively, use 14 liang of Eclipta prostrata,2 liang of fresh ginger juice—extracted naturally—combined with the three types of wine, mixed and simmered into a paste; soak the Polygonatum in this mixture for half a day, then stir-fry until it turns grayish-brown) 4 liang, Polygonum multiflorum 4 liang (crushed, boiled in black bean water, steamed and sun-dried nine times each, then soaked in human milk and sun-dried.Another formula adds 1 liang of Cornus officinalis, 1 liang of Lycium barbarum, 1 liang of Cuscuta chinensis, 1 liang of Dioscorea opposita, and 1 liang of Biota orientalis seed).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey, and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.
