Drug Formulation

7 genuine mulberry cuttlefish shells (stir-fried until slightly yellow), half liang of Gastrodia elata, 1 fen of white silkworm pupae (select straight ones, lightly stir-fried),1 fen of scorpion tail, 1 fen of ephedra (roots and nodes removed; grind into a fine powder for later use), half a liang of cinnabar (finely ground and water-washed), 1 fen of frankincense (ground), 1 qian of borax (ground), 1 qian of musk, and half a qian of borneol.

Processing

Mix all the above ingredients thoroughly, combine with refined honey to form a paste, shape into balls the size of a water caltrop, and wrap each in gold leaf.
